Building out the press

Should I really buy my own print press? Is it problematic if I begin to buy fonts? What about two more print presses? Is this a problem yet?

Welcome to the BS Press page, today I spent most of the day building out the website for my Press and parts of the instagram account. I am excited to start to try and build a website and online store. I have imprudently bought a good amount of print press things, and after many people have made the suggestion, I have decided to try and open my own Print Press.

Fixing up the shop

A daunting task I have been working to clean out the basement and make the basement into a nice studio. I have empty drawers that may one day be home to different typefaces and a massive cabinet filled with galley trays, but until I have laid down a floor in the print press space all of these items will need to live in the basement outside of the "press studio".

For anyone wondering, what knowledge is needed to run your own press?

I know nothing.

This is not to say I shouldn't know something or that I won't be working to learn more going forward. However, for now, I know very very little and I am looking forward to learning, hopefully before I break my things.

And if you don't know what to do, just bull shit as best you can.
